Burstfehler
Eine Folge von Bits im Datenstrom ist fehlerhaft.
Bus
Basiskörper eines Satelliten. Im Bus sind alle Systeme des Satelliten untergebracht, die für die Steuerung und Energieerzeugung verantwortlich sind, z.B. Mikroprozessoren oder Sonnenreflektoren.
Byte
Eine Gruppe von 8, 16, 32 Bits zur Datenübertragung in der Informatik. Größere Einheiten sind Kilobyte (kByte) = 1.024 Byte und Megabyte (Mbyte) = 1.024 kByte.
(Die Abweichung vom metrisch korrekten 1.000 fachen ergibt sich aus der binären Struktur von Daten in der Informatik. So ist 1 kByte = 2 hoch 10 Bytes)
